Code of Conduct

The objective of the code of conduct is to define generally accepted behavior within Daamen & Van Sluis Accountants tax advisors. It provides support to all employees of Daamen & Van Sluis and gives them direction in our daily activities. With this we want to continue to demonstrate the trust in our organization.

Assumptions

Our employees act in accordance with generally accepted standards of decency and good taste. During the performance of their duties, they act honestly and diligently in accordance with the requirements of the law and the regulations and regulations of the professional organizations.

Our services comply with the NBA Regulation on the Code of Conduct and Professional Rules for Accountants and compliance with it is systematically monitored. This code of conduct prescribes the following basic principles for all our services:

Professionality

We act on the basis of behavior specific to the profession. This means that we all want to adhere not only to the basic principles of professional technical quality in a formal sense, but that their scope and intentions must also be reflected in our behavior. In short, a professional critical attitude and assessment.

Integrity

In the VGBA, this professional requirement is laid down in Section 2.3, Article 6 ‘The accountant acts honestly and sincerely’. This attitude is also expected of our employees, both towards clients and colleagues.

Objectivity

We limit ourselves to the facts and are not influenced by our own feelings or prejudices, conflicts of interest or undue influence by third parties.

Professional competence and care

We provide our services adequately on the basis of knowledge and by acting in accordance with technical and other professional regulations. In addition to a certain level of knowledge, this also involves craftsmanship (professional judgement). We maintain relevant professional literature and stay informed of industry developments.

Confidentiality

All information about assignments and clients must be kept confidential.

Practical effect

We provide professional services by adhering to the following guidelines:

  1. We only provide those services that fall within our scope of competence and strive to deliver no less than what we have committed to.
  2. We compete fiercely and only engage in practices that are legal and ethical.
  3. We comply with our contractual obligations and report and invoice fairly.
  4. We respect the confidentiality and privacy of our clients, our people and others with whom we do business. Unless permitted, we do not use confidential information for personal purposes, for the benefit of daamen & van sluis accountants or for the benefit of third parties. We will only disclose confidential information or personal data if necessary and when we have obtained the relevant approval and/or we are obliged to do so due to legal, statutory or professional requirements.

We want to ensure that our independence is not or does not appear to be compromised. We actively respond to situations and circumstances that threaten or appear to compromise our objectivity.
